July 9, Day 24: Twin Cities Minnesota

NOTE: After a week without Internet access, we can now start to catch up on the blog.

After such an intensive visiting day yesterday, both Dick and Patti were glad to have a lower- key Friday. We enjoyed leisurely breakfast, working on some photos on the blog, and hanging out.

Patti then headed off to have lunch and go for a nice walk with her dear friend, Diane. Although phone conversations and text messages are fine, one of the things that we have found over the years is it’s very helpful in keeping relationships if you can every once in a while be in the same place together. This was no exception. They had several hours of really nice catching up on family and friends, walking and talking about their lives. Super super super nice.

Meanwhile, Dick was taking a little introvert recharging time. After so much socializing, he was glad to have an afternoon where he didn’t have to interact with anyone. He took a nap, reviewed photos, and just rested.

After Patti returned to our hotel home, we headed to one of our long-time favorite restaurants in Minneapolis: It’s Greek to Me. There we ate fabulous and tasty Greek food.

On the way back to the hotel we did several errands: stopped at a grocery store for snacks and water, picked up some hardware and garbage bags for our trip to camp, and filled the car up with gas. We headed back and tried to get some good sleep, because we knew we were up early in the morning headed off to Camp Unistar.
