day 15: June 29 Minneapolis, MN

Another day with some visits with dear old friends.

We had lunch with Kay, a delightful woman Patti worked for over 35 years ago in the independent living Accessible Space program in which she lives. Kay is such a dear friend and we see her whenever it’s possible to get to the Twin Cities. We had lots of good time catching up on mutual acquaintances and our travels. Also, we had a chance to do a little helping setting up a couple of sites on her computer. Very, very fun to see dear friends again.

Then, we went to dinner with other longtime friends, Scott and Flo. We got to tour there senior co-op and have a nice dinner together. For people in other places, a “senior co-op” is a community living development for adults over 55. Generally, they are apartment-type units that you buy, as well as having access to larger communal areas. It’s interesting having friends make the downsize move from larger homes into these kind of communities. It was lovely seeing the one that Scott and Flo our live in.

We had lots of good conversation about travels and our lives. It’s possible to keep track of friendships, long distance, but we really agree. It is very useful if occasionally you can be in the same place.

Although we have lived in California now for over 25 years, we will always have a warm spot in our heart for Minnesota . There’s so many wonderful people and wonderful places in Minnesota. It’s good to be here.
