The day started with Patti meeting her friend, Diane, for
breakfast. They were joined later by her
now nearly teenaged daughter, Anna. How
these young people grow up. Nice food,
lots of coffee and tea and good conversation.
Then a hang out afternoon with Randy, including Patti
reading a script of his new play based on his father’s life in the military as
a career high ranking army officer. This
is nearly finished and is excellent.
The dinner and another evening at the theater. This time at Park Square Theater in St. Paul,
to see Calendar Girls. In a park across from the theater, we found a series statues of Peanuts characters by Charles M. Schulz. Of course, we had to take a number of photos with Patti by the statues.
The play we saw was a rocking funny
show about a group of middle aged women in England who raised money for cancer
by putting out a discreet but nude calendar starring them. Very funny and well done. Seeing plays with Randy is so much funny,
because not only is he an accomplished playwright, he was a theater critic for
many years and has such a great way of seeing a show that is extra fun. A super way to spend our last evening in the
Twin Cities.
