Time with friends in your old metro area is just precious.
On Monday the 27th, it was a great day hanging
out with our friend Randy, catching up with him, helping with some little
projects, and PICKING raspberries.
Yes,
we with our excellent vacation karma, arrived just in time for the raspberries
in Randy’s yard to begin to ripen.
Amazing lovely red raspberries and fabulous black raspberries. Yah!!!!!
Patti was happy to be out in the yard plucking them fresh from the vine
to have on our breakfast cereal. This is
among summer’s finest gifts. Delicious.
After dinner, we spent the evening with another of Patti’s
oldest Twin Cities friends, Kay. Patti
met Kay in the mid 1980’s when Patti worked at the house she lives at. And they have remained friends ever
since. Kay was so happy to hear some of
our travelogue adventures (including being so gracious to look at a ton of
photos!) Kay was delighted to pick out
some Mardi Gras beads that we had brought back from New Orleans for her. She looked great.
We also spent time talking about her dear
friend, Mary, who passed away a couple of months back. So many dear ones have been leaving. We think of Mary fondly.
