We really gave ourselves the day “off” with only plans for
dinner. It was delightful to sleep until
we wanted to wake up and then ease into a day of photos, reading, and just
resting.
We went for a little walk around the neighborhood, which was
fun. One of the best parts of AirBnB is
being in actual neighborhoods where real people live. Not in a hotel zone. That is where we were
staying. In a nice Cambridge older
neighborhood.
We enjoyed some nice conversations with our hosts as well as
fellow guest. All around a nice
welcoming places to stay.
For dinner, we headed over just 5 miles away to friends of ours
who we knew when we all live din the Twin Cities of Minnesota. They have now moved some 15 years before to
the Boston area. We were pleased to be
invited to spend the evening at their home and they cooked us up some fabulous
dinner of wonderful veggies and grilled tuna.
The conversation was easy and fun as we exchanged news of family,
friends and travels. Dennis and Kathryn
are such fine people and we are pealed to be able to keep our connection with
them even though we live across the country form each other.
We walked over to a local ice cream shop to pick up freshly
made ice cream to go with fresh fruit for dessert.
On the way, we saw a local art project where an artist
rescues discarded chairs and pints them selling them for charity. This was fun to see what creatively can find
in someone else’s discards.
The evening ended too soon, but we all hoped to see each
other in the near future.
