July 3, Carrollton TX No travel

Today we were so grateful to be able to sleep until after 9:00 staying at Patti’s sister’s home in a northern suburb of Dallas.  We were able to wash a load of laundry, charge all of our electronic equipment, and download our photos.  We have taken a total of over 1000 photos so far.

It was great to have a day “off”  and special time to just hang out with our niece, Mandy, while we watched lots of non-meaningful TV as Dick worked on sorting out photos. We also were finally able to upload some of our reflection unto the blog.

When Mandy’s parents came home from work, we were able to make a plan to go along and watch Mandy’s select fast-pitch softball team practice.  They work really hard!  Mandy has been playing softball for a number of years and is really serious about her sport.  We couldn’t see her brother, Drew, because his select baseball team was at a tournament in New Jersey.

As we drove back home, we were entertained by several 3rd of July fireworks displays.

The evening ended with a late delicious, dinner back at the house.  Hooray for the chance to just rest and enjoy family.
