Today was a kickback and resting day. We were so pleased to be in Peggy and Rob’s house without an agenda. The weather was hot, but not beastly hot. Time for lounging around, and resting. So nice when there’s time for family that we just don’t get enough time together.
Peggy led us out to the patio where we could look back at where the patio roof joined the building. There in a space among the rafters was a little owl, an Eastern Screech Owl. How fun it is to see this regular resident.
After a late lunch, we ran over to meet our niece Amanda‘s fiancé, AJ. He met us at their new house which they just closed on two weeks ago. It was so fun to meet him, a very nice young man, and to enjoy the new house. It’s going be a great place and they are working hard to make it their own.
We had a nice lazy afternoon with a nap and then the journey to the swimming pool for cooling off and sipping drinks and chatting. This is a really great relaxing lifestyle. We are glad to be able to join Peggy and Rob for this.
Dinner was some really great food, including shrimp kebabs grilled to perfection. We ate and talked and just enjoyed our time together.
We wish we lived closer to all of our dear ones, but we appreciate the chance of being together when we can. It was great to have a day "off" from all of the travel.
