The museum also had a replica of a Stave Church from Norway. These traditional churches were built
starting about a thousand years ago when the Scandinavian Countries began to
accept Christianity. This replica was
created in loving detail, modeled after an actual church that still stands in
Norway. It was beautiful! So nice to find a museum dedicated to
Scandinavian culture, which is dear to Patti’s heart.
The afternoon brought us to another important heritage site
for Patti. Jamestown ND is the town
where she was born. 54 years ago, her
father was coaching a high school champion basketball team and Patti’s mom got
permission from her doctor to go along to the state tournament held in
Jamestown. Patti decided to come then, and the news articles say , “Coach
brings home two trophies” (The second
was Patti).
We didn’t have time to stay long in Jamestown, but did manage to take Patti’s photo in front of the world’s largest buffalo statue, and then to visit the Buffalo Museum, quite a well done tribute to bison and their role in the US and Natavie American history.

We then drove to Bismark arriving to spend a restful evening
in our hotel making progress with blogging and photos. A day with a lot of driving, but wonderful
sites. Sounds lot out trip!
“Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than
by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe
harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
